Job Description:
The Subsea Controls/IWOCS Engineer is responsible for the specification, design, manufacture and testing of the Installation and Workover Control System as well as assisting the Project Subsea Control System Lead Engineer with aspects of the productioncontrol system design. This will include the generation of detailed functional specifications and assistance with bid packages and analysis, review of design and test documentation, interface management, QA/QC and manufacturing/testing oversight and management. The position will be a key focal point in the subsea team responsible for management of technical interfaces between equipment vendors and various project stakeholders including subsea, drilling and completions and operations teams.
Education:
B.S. Engineering required, P.E. License preferred, M.S. Optional
Experience:
10+ years experience and knowledge of detailed design, manufacture, testing and installation of subsea production and installation and workover control systems and associated equipment. Experience representing major operator. Equipment design, installation and commissioning and fault finding experience with control system vendor. Experience with all aspects of subsea control system design including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical power and electrical/optical communication systems. Experienced with applicable industry and regulatory codes, standards, and recommended practices of subsea systems (control systems and interfacing equipment).
Preferred Skills:
Capable of generation of detailed functional specifications and bid packages, performing bid analysis, review of design and test documentation, interface management, QA/QC and testing oversight, integration testing, equipment installation and system commissioning. Demonstrated ability to drive incident free HES culture. Demonstrated capability of working as part of a multi-functional asset team, including vendor management (communication, cost, schedule, MOC, etc.). Has good knowledge of economic drivers and uses this knowledge to make or influence decisions. Demonstrated ability to work with little supervision. Self-directed and proceeds on own initiative. Strongly proactive
Certification:
Requirement to obtain offshore medical clearance and offshore survival certification.
Additional Comments:
The position is based in Houston, TX, USA, but will require up to 30% domestic and/or international travel during the engineering phases, increasing to 50% during installation and commissioning activities. |
