Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY and ROLE PURPOSE: The Operations Team Lead is a member of the in-country operations management team directing technical professionals with engineering skills pertaining to surface, subsea and subsurface matters. The in-country technical team is responsible for meeting production and injection targets, optimizing day-to-day production and executing work programs. The team is also responsible and accountable for management of the operating budget. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Direct a team of engineers responsible for well surveillance & intervention, subsea intervention, topsides facility maintenance, and project management. • Achieve performance expectations for the production system, ensuring safety while enhancing the surface and subsea mechanical integrity and reliability. • Provide day-to-day production operations, EHS and business leadership to the onshore and offshore operations teams. • Coach, develop, and mentor staff. • Promote collaborative partnerships across the functional organization, particularly the Kuala Lumpur engineering teams and offshore team, to ensure a transparent operating organization. • Member of the Onshore Emergency Response Team. RESPONSIBILITIES & COMPETENCIES • Provide leadership for production operations philosophy and HSE management systems that ensure the safety of people, facilities and environment while adhering to company policies. • Direct a team of technicians responsible for tracking the key performance indicators, including EHS data, greenhouse gas data, budget, deferred production, production & injection volumes, etc., as well as managed production databases and generating daily production reports. • Prepare, manage, monitor and report the NMB and Belud production operating budget, business plan inputs and key performance indicators. • Manage the work planning process, in conjunction with the onshore and offshore operations teams, the supervision and execution of the agreed work program. • Monitor the performance of the key support contractors and FPSO Contractor, including in house operational support functions to maximize business efficiency. • Demonstrate effective team work and appropriate business behaviours. • Coach, mentor and challenge with an aim to rapidly progress career development of the staff. • Develop and exhibit the Client Leadership Competencies and Client Values while challenging the staff to similar behaviour. REQUISITE EXPERIENCE Highly Desirable • High personal integrity and role model type behaviour. • 8+ years oil & gas industry experience, including at least 4-yrs in production operations. • Experience with well performance modeling using nodal analysis. • Experience with the operation and maintenance of oil and gas production processing facilities. • Proficient in production operations & petroleum engineering concepts and application. • Proficient in Project Management and Cost Control. • Knowledgeable with tendering and contracting procedures. • Experience with well intervention supervision, subsea architecture and ROV operations. • Experience in developing a cohesive and motivated team comprised of a multinational culture. • Must be capable of aligning, prioritizing and executing work plans of onshore and offshore based technical teams. • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment. Desirable • Experience in an international, culturally diverse environment. • Experience in subsurface engineering, well construction and development issues. • Experience in deepwater, FPSO or other marine operations. • Knowledgeable in EHS procedures for offshore operations. • Ability to work under pressure. Good presentation skills. • Ability to support essential business behaviours. • Ability to work effectively as either a leader or a team member. • Exhibit a mature and structured approach to issue resolution with focus on solutions. • Must be capable of working long hours in a demanding environment. • Good health • Ability to read, write and speak English.
