Project Description
Located in Green Canyon Blocks 370, 371 and 327 in 3,301 feet (1,006 meters) of water in the Gulf of Mexico is the Angel Fire prospect. Nexen is the operator, holding a 30% interest; ExxonMobil holds the remaining 70% interest.

In March 2001, Nexen acquired Lease G22944 at the Central Gulf of Mexico (GOM) Lease Sale No. 178-1. An initial exploration plan (IEP) has been submitted but an application for permit to drill (APD) has not been filed. The well was originally scheduled to be drilled in 2010 using either the ENSCO 8501 or ENSCO 8502. However, drilling plans were put on hold due to the U.S. Government's deepwater drilling moratorium.
