Apr. 2012 - CNOOC Limited has made a gas discovery in Dongfang (DF) 13-2 in the high-temperature and high-pressure gas reservoir in Yinggehai, following the successful appraisal of the middle formation of the DF 13-1 gas field in 2010. The new discovery is located in the north of central sag in the Yinggehai Basin of Western South China Sea. The discovery well, DF13-2-1, encountered gas pay zones with total thickness of 115 feet (35 meters) in a water depth of 213 feet (65 meters) and a well depth of 10,394 feet (3,168 meters). During the test period, the well flowed at an average rate of 42.4 MMcf/d.
