Because of our continuous growth, Subsea 7 is looking for Level II Rigid Pipelay Engineers to join our Rigid Pipelay Team. The Rigid Pipelay Team is at the forefront of some of the largest, most challenging and diverse projects in the Gulf of Mexico, and other areas of the world supported by the Subsea 7 office in Houston.
As part of the Rigid Pipelay Group, the Engineer Level II will be responsible for producing deliverables in support of the subsea installation of Rigid Pipelines and ancillary equipment using Subsea 7 state of the art installation vessels.
ABOUT THE ENGINEER LEVEL II - VST /' RIGID PIPELAY POSITION
Under guidance from a Senior and/or Lead or Principal Engineer an Engineer Level II provides engineering skills to projects, tendering activities, engineering studies, vessels and equipment and/or offshore engineering processes. Compliance with and delivery against project plans, relevant engineering standards and contractual obligations is required. The Engineer Level II usually works as part of a team but may have responsibility for discrete work packages. He/she may be required to check technical documentation.
GENERIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Provides skills, integrity and knowledge in key areas of rigid pipelay engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice; Understands clients' needs; identifies and addresses design parameters and problems; develops and implements solutions; Under limited supervision, independently evaluates, organizes and prioritizes work which is normally subject to internal checking and approval; Develop/present the offshore construction methodology using appropriate procedures and standards; Responsible for production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to the Drawing Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various 3rd-party submissions; Originates or checks technical documentation, accepting personal responsibility for its adequacy; Ensures all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed; Represents the Company in meetings/correspondence with Clients, subcontractors, 3rd parties, etc. in a technical capacity; Trains / mentors more junior engineers.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
EUCATION REQUIRED
Engineering Degree or Equivalent
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A minimum of 3 years experience in the offshore construction industry. Other relevant experience in the oil and gas industry may be considered.
