Oct. 2012 - Total awarded Saipem an EPIC contract concerning the Girassol and Dalia FPSOs operating in Block 17 offshore Angola. The contract comprises the engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning of the topside modifications for the multiphase pump systems on board the vessels. The offshore work, scheduled for 4Q 2014, will be mainly be performed by the dynamically positioned Saipem 3000 heavy lift support vessel.

May. 2012 - Total awarded Aker Solutions a contract for the delivery of seven subsea tree systems to the Dalia field offshore Angola. The scope of work includes seven production trees, seven wellhead systems and seven well jumper systems, and may include some contract options. Management and engineering of the subsea tree systems will be performed at Aker Solutions' manufacturing center in Tranby, Norway. Procurement, manufacturing and assembly will take place in Port Klang, Malaysia, and Aberdeen, UK. Equipment deliveries will be made in 2013 and 2014.

Jun. 2009 - CGGVeritas received a major seismic reservoir characterization project by Total E&P Angola and their partners. The award is for the inversion of 4D seismic data covering the Dalia, Rosa, Girassol and Jasmine fields offshore Angola. The project will use the Hampson-Russell proprietary global 4D elastic inversion product, StratiSI 4D.

Jan. 2008 - Angola's Petroleum Minister, Desiderio Costa, officially inaugurated the deep offshore Dalia field at a ceremony also attended by Manuel Vicente, Chairman of Sonangol (Sociedade Nacional de Combustiveis de Angola), and Christophe de Margerie, Chief Executive Officer of Total.

Dec. 2006 - Sonangol and Total have started production from Angola's deepwater Dalia field in Block 17. Discovered in September 1997 and located some 135 kilometers off the coast in water depths ranging from 1,200 to 1,500 meters. Dalia is estimated to contain close to 1 billion barrels of recoverable oil. It is the largest deepwater development to be brought onstream this year and among the largest projects of its kind in the world.

Aug. 2006 - Fairmount Sherpa and Fairmount Summit are continuing with the delivery of the FPSO DALIA. The heavy lift vessels sailed from Cape Town on August 20th.

Feb. 2004 - Consafe Engineering has been awarded a turnkey contract worth more than £11 million by TSS Dalia for the Dalia FPSO (Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading vessel), which will be located offshore Angola. The turnkey contract is for the design, engineering, construction and commissioning of seven technical buildings, consisting of electrical and instrumentation rooms, a workshop and a laboratory.

May. 2003 - TotalFinaElf E&P Angola has awarded Aker Kvaerner an order to proceed for delivery of the subsea oil production system for the Dalia project in Block 17 offshore Angola. Worth in excess of NOK 2 billion (USD 300 million), the scope covers engineering, procurement and fabrication of all required subsea production equipment.

May. 2003 - State-owned Sonangol of Angola has authorized TotalFinaElf, as operator of Block 17, to award the key contracts for developing the Dalia oil field. The development project includes 34 production wells, 30 water injection wells and three gas injection wells. The floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel for Dalia will constitute a second pole of production on Block 17. Capable of processing 240,000 barrels of oil per day, the Dalia FPSO will also have a storage capacity of 2 million barrels of oil. In total, the development of the Dalia project represents an estimated investment of $3.4 billion.
