  • Developing and optimising in-house structural design software programs
  • Lay-out drawings of infusion materials/lines to enable a part to be made by VART
  • Produce accurate moulding weight estimates, bill of materials and costing of all Composite parts
  • Develop new materials and methods to reduce weight / costs and to improve surface finish
  • Produce detailed and practical Composite repair schedules whether for in-house or warranty/after sales issues
  • Good communication with production is key and regular visits to the production sites are essential to ensure good practical understanding of boat moulding and construction. These visits should also be used to help optimise the structural lay-up and design to optimise for production but taking in to account overall weight and cost
  • Working with rules and regulations - C.E, MCA LY 3, Lloyds, RINA, DnV, ABS and ISO
  • Produce full and accurate weight estimates for any boat in the Sunseeker range
  • Conducting inclining experiments and producing both intact and damage stability booklets to either C.E or LY3 may be required on occasion. Using the Wolfson Unit programs
  • Lightship checks for vessels on the water
  • Noise and fire insulation drawings/design may also be worked on as required
